When the world feels overwhelming—and the demands of work and life keep coming—how do we stay steady without shutting down, and kind without becoming depleted?

Your Guide

Michelle DuVal, MA

Michelle is the founder and director of The Mindful Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and has been leading workshops, hosting retreats, and teaching mindfulness for more than 25 years. Her warm, practical, and down-to-earth teaching style has helped thousands of people reduce stress, navigate life's challenges, and discover greater peace through mindfulness.

For Michelle, this course is also deeply personal.

As our world feels increasingly divided, I find myself returning again and again to the practices in this course. How do we stay open when it would be easier to close? How do we meet anger without adding more anger? How do we remember the humanity in one another, especially when we disagree? These practices have become some of the most important ones in my own life, and I'm grateful to share them with you.

A Look Inside the Course

Twelve days. Twelve teachings and practices. Each one explores a different way of staying open, steady, and kind—even when it isn't easy.

Here’s a glimpse at three of the lessons we’ll practice together.

Each lesson is delivered to your inbox and includes a video teaching, a guided meditation, and downloadable MP3s—yours to keep.

Lesson 2

Dream Catcher

Explore what may lie beneath another person’s anger—the disappointment, loss, and broken dreams we don’t always see—and how looking deeper can help us respond with compassion without excusing harm.

Lesson 6

From Weight to Depth

Caring deeply can bring sadness with it. Discover how sadness can shift from something that weighs us down into something that gives our kindness depth, tenderness, and wisdom.

Lesson 11

Dealing Grace

When someone hurts or disappoints us, kindness can feel like the last thing we want to offer. Explore how to respond from who you want to be—not from what someone else brings to the moment—and how to extend that same grace to yourself.
